  • Vesti Segodnya reports that a working group proposes to merge the State Language Centre and the State Language Agency

Vesti Segodnya reports that a working group which elaborates a plan on optimisation of structures responsible for implementation of state language policy proposes to merge the State Language Centre and the State Language Agency. As reported, a plan previously prepared by the Minister of Justice Gaidis Berzins to merge the State Language Centre and the Naturalisation Board was rejected due to its ineffectiveness. The Ministry of Education and Science, which supervises the State Language Agency, objected to the present proposal of the working group.
