Chas reports about a visit to Latvia of the European Ombudsman Nikiforos Diamandouros. Mr. Diamandouros has stated that the European Ombudsman has received only 7 complaints from Latvian residents in 2007. Therefore, in an interview with the newspaper, Mr. Diamandouros has appealed to all Latvian residents, especially, ethnic minorities to write to the European Ombudsman because protection of ethnic minorities from discrimination is his duty.
