  • Chas: comments placed in an Internet site www.braucmajas.lv call to kill Russian speaking residents of Latvia

Chas reports that an Internet site of Latvian nationalists www.braucmajas.lv (in translation “go home”) collected more than 8,000 of signatures or comments which call “disloyal” Russian speaking residents Latvia to leave the country. Newspaper notes that some of the comments call to kill Russian speakers.

Activist of the Latvian Anti-Fascist Committee appealed to the Mayor of Riga Nils Usakovs asking to forbid the procession and commemorative events of former Latvian Waffen SS legionnaires planned to be held in the centre of Riga on 16 March. Chas

Chas reports that today, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs fully took over the functions of the Naturalisation Board.

The MP Karlis Sadurskis in an interview with Diena, commenting his objections against slaughter of animals in a way of ritual cut or Halal method, stated that Muslim traditions should not enter into traditionally Christian Latvian society.
